Universities Selected for DOE EcoCar Challenge

Sponsors student teams to engineer electric vehicle technologies

The Department of Energy has announced the launch of a new research and experimental learning competition for college students. The EcoCAR Electric Vehicle Challenge partners with MathWorks and General Motors to provide each of the 15 student teams with one Cadillac LYRIQ, giving them four years to create and implement innovative technologies to pair seamlessly with the all-electric vehicle.

“These budding energy leaders are heeding President Biden’s call to get more Americans into EVs,” said U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm. “Collegiate competitions like EcoCAR are critical to building a clean energy talent pipeline that reflects the diversity of America and make room for more domestic manufacturing to strengthen our energy independence.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Granholm to seek the Lord as she heads the Energy Department.
  • For U.S. energy officials to be discerning as they implement renewable energy policies.
